Brewery Tours FAQ

What is included in the brewery tour?

It will include a tour of our brewery in Kendal and a tasting session, either within the brewery itself or in our Tap Room. If you intend to stay in the Tap Room after the tour concludes, we highly recommend making a reservation in advance. How long will the tour take?

The tour will last approximately 2 hours, including the sampling session.

What day can I book?

Our Brewery tours run at the following days and times:

Thursday: 4PM – 6PM

Friday: 3PM – 5PM; 5PM – 7PM

Saturday: 2PM – 4PM; 4PM – 6PM

Is there an age limit?

Visitors under the age of 14  are not allowed. All visitors who are under 18 will have to be accompanied by an adult. Visitors under the age of 18 are not allowed to consume alcohol, they can have a soft drink instead. 

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, booking in advance is required. We close bookings one week prior to the tour date.

Is there parking available at the brewery?

Parking is available near the brewery at Castle Mill Yard, though it’s not designated. We recommend arriving early to secure your spot. We’re just a 5-minute walk from both a multistory car park and the bus stop at Westmorland Center. We  advise you to always have a designated driver and to avoid drinking and driving.

Do I have to bring a printed ticket?

No, you don’t. The only thing we will need is to see the email confirmation you received upon making the booking.

Are pets allowed on the brewery tour?

Due to Health and Safety regulations, we are not allowed to have pets in the brewery.

Can I reschedule or cancel my booking?

Yes, you can. To do so, please contact marketing@bownessbaybrewing.co.uk

Is the brewery accessible for people with disabilities?

People with chairs and limited mobility won’t be able to access all facilities of the brewery.

Refunds and Cancellations
We are unable to accept cancellations made within 48 hours of your scheduled tour.
 
In the event that you are unable to attend your booking, we reserve the right to retain the payment.

Rules & Restrictions

  • For your safety and enjoyment, please remain aware of your surroundings throughout the tour.
  • Closed-toe footwear is a must (no flip flops or high heels).
  • Avoid touching any machinery, as some parts may be hot.
  • We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone deemed intoxicated, with no refunds provided in such cases. 
  • No glass, no pets, no smoking/vaping, and no eating is allowed in the brewery.
